09 Apr Padova Climate Action Week 2026: carbon removal and biochar events with Starter
From April 11 to 19, 2026, Padova will host the Padova Climate Action Week (PCAW), a week dedicated to climate, innovation and sustainability, featuring events focused on key solutions for the climate transition, including Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) technologies and biochar.
In this context, Starter is actively contributing through the involvement of its Director, Lucia Brusegan, who will take part in two key events for the development of the Italian CDR ecosystem.
📅 April 14, 2026 – Launch of the Italian Carbon Removal Network
On April 14, Padova will host the launch of the Italian Carbon Removal Network (RIRC), an initiative bringing together key stakeholders in the Italian CDR landscape.
This event represents an important milestone for carbon removal in Italy, with the aim to:
- build a national CDR community
- connect research, industry and institutions
- accelerate the development of climate-neutral solutions

📅 April 17, 2026 – Biochar in Action: applications for climate, agriculture and industry
On April 17, the event “Biochar in Action: solutions for soils, cities and climate” will explore the role of biochar as a carbon removal solution and its applications across different sectors.
The session will cover:
- biochar in agriculture and soil health
- biochar in livestock systems and emission reduction
- urban applications and climate resilience
- innovative materials and circular bioeconomy
An interactive and accessible event designed to showcase how biochar is emerging as one of the most concrete and scalable solutions within the carbon removal landscape.
